 Lee Plunkett & Mr. O'Nelligan
Created by Michael Nethercott
"Heed well the dead, for they hover at our ears."
--the opening lines of The Séance Society
Young LEE PLUNKETT reluctantly takes over his late father's detective agency, but soon teams up -- at the urging of his finacée -- with the enigmatic MR. O'NELLIGAN, a sixtyish Irishman with some serious detective chops and a propensity for quoting W.B. Yeats and other Celtic poets, in a unique reimaging of Watson and Holmes (or is it Goodwin and Wolfe?).
Those looking for hard-boiled thrills should keep on looking -- this is pretty much your traditional classic mystery, set in 1950s small town Conneticut, full of country estates and suspicious servants, with a dusting of the supernatural tossed into the mix. Assorted mediums, haunted houses and a wacked out spiritualist who claims to have invented a machine that can communicate with the dead are just as likely to pop up as period-setting references to baseball and Elvis Presley.
