Pinch me. In the autumn of 2011, it was announced that Oscar-winning filmmakers Ethan Coen and Joel Coen were set to executive produce an hourlong single-camera comedy for Fox featuring a Los Angeles private eye with a bad attitude whose cases frequently involve the depraved doings of the Hollywood elite -- and his deadbeat friends in El Segundo. Co-created with Phil Johnson, who's slated to handle most of the writing chores, this promises to be the most highly anticipated P.I. series in years, given the Bros' long-time affection, off-beat but evidently sincere, for the noir and hard-boiled genres, stretching from from their very first feature film, Blood Simple, through a long filmography that includes such left-handed homages to Chandler, Hammett, Cain et al as displayed in The Man Who Wasn't There, The Big Lebowski and Miller's Crossing and even in several short stories in Ethan's collection Gates of Eden. No other details yet, but we'll try to keep you posted... TELEVISION
