Whitney Logan
Created by Mercedes Lambert (1948-2003)

"If it's that delicate... maybe you need a lady detective."'
-- Chandler in The Little Sister (1949) and beginning quotation of Dogtown.

She's young, white and blonde. She's also attractive, dresses for success and keeps herself in shape at ther gym.

So why isn't life better for WHITNEY LOGAN, a troubled Los Angeles lawyer?

Instead of the fast track to the high life, her plans and somewhat naive ideals get regularly trounced and she suffers from bouts of drink and depression. Still, while it may not make for a good life on Whitney's part, it makes compelling reading for fans of hard-nosed crime fiction.

The last book in the highly acclaimed series, Ghosttown, was published posthumously in 2007 with an introduction by Michael Connelly.
