"Untitled Leonardo DiCaprio Project"
Created by John Logan

May 2007: According to Variety, Miami Vice director Michael Mann is pitching a Leonardo DiCaprio P.I. flick. The untitled noir drama, written by John Logan, supposedly takes place on the old MGM lot in the 1930s. DiCaprio will play a private eye/studio fixer who cleans up after stars' scandals created by its stars who's hired to investigate whether a starlet murdered her husband.

The buzz is that the script is strong and has a L.A. Confidential vibe going for it, working in such historical figures as Judy Garland and Bugsy Siegel.

Production is to start in February 2008. Mann, Logan and DiCaprio all previously worked on Martin Scorsese's The Aviator.
