Jeffrey Tiffen Smythe & Lady Fiona Fiziwiggs
Created by Darryl Hughes & Monique MacNaughton

"I'm all a-quiver."
-- Lady Fiona

He doesn't consider himself a private eye -- he makes that very clear to a potential client in the very first story arc-- but he certainly does fall under this site's definition of one, more a Travis McGee

The web comic The Continentals follows the adventures of two Continental Operatives in Victorian England. Dashing, dapper JEFFREY TIFFEN SMYTHE and his partner, the gender-bending, swash-buckling and wise-cracking LADY FIONA FIZIWIGG stalk the mean streets, hot on the trail of such miscreants as the perpetrator of a series of brutal "mangling" murders that have plunged the city of Mansfordshire into an abyss of fear. But the strip is more than a dour gloomfest --it's a real mash-up: a tongue-in-cheek stew of detective fiction, action/adventure, historical drama, gothic horror, science fiction, and even steampunk that juggles influences as varied as old EC horror comics, Edgar Allan Poe and TV's The Avengers.

And would you believe... Get Smart?

Mind you, Smythe and Fiona aren't private eyes, really. They're not your typical outlier private cops -- they're working on the sly for Queen Victoria. But you didn't hear it from me.
