Jefferson Birch
Created by W.W. "Wendi" Lee

Laconic former Texas Ranger JEFFERSON BIRCH is a sort of Old West private eye who works for Tisdale Investigations. He's got a dark past that roubles him some, and a pal, Swede, who lends a hand now and then, in this ongoing series by W.W. "Wendi" Lee.

Author Lee (fire?) is also responsible for the contemporary Boston private eye Angela Matelli series. And keeping it all in the family, she's married to cartoonist Terry Beatty, co-creator of Ms. Tree and Mike Mist. They live in Muscatine, Iowa. Lee has been a full-time writer for years, and has taught writing workshops, and even worked as an associate editor of Mystery Scene magazine for several years. She has also written a well-received American historical called The Overland Trail for the Tor/ForgeWomen of the West series. Wendi is a member of the Private Eye Writers of America, The Mystery Writers of America, The Western Writers of America and Women Writing the West.
